Intro to Agile Fundamentals

A quick introduction to our Agile Fundamentals online course. You will learn about what this course covers and how you can make the most out of it.

Module 1 : Context Of Agile

Our first module covers the “Context of Agile”. This is all about understanding what Agile really means and why it is so important in our times.

Module 2 : Empirical vs. Defined

This second module of our course covers the biggest differences between an empirical (agile) and a defined (traditional) approach to work. It highlights 4 concrete benefits of an empirical approach.

Module 3 : Design Thinking

Module 3 covers Design Thinking as one way to systematically get from a customer problem to great product ideas. The intention is to create problem-solution-fit.

Module 4: Scrum

Our fourth module is about the Scrum Framework as a whole. You will learn how all the elements in Scrum i.e. Roles, Events, and Artifacts are connected to each other. You will also learn how Scrum delivers towards empiricism.

Module 5: Kanban

Module 5 covers Kanban as an additional tool or approach for becoming better at empirical process control. You will learn what the true cost of context switching is and how you can significantly increase productivity with a few tweaks to your way of working.

In our final module, you will learn how all the frameworks and tools are connected. You will understand why teams should do Design Thinking, Scrum and Kanban… not one or the other, but all of them.

Sohrab is the Founder & CEO of Scrum Academy in Cologne, Germany. He has taught close to 10.000 students in Scrum and Agile Leadership over the past decade. His work and experience in the agile space have been recognized by the world’s most respected agile certification organizations. He is an accomplished Certified Scrum Trainer® and Approved Certified Agile Leadership® Educator by the Scrum Alliance, where he also served the past 3 years as a member of the Board of Directors.

Sohrab has never been and will never be the typical agilist. His thinking and teaching have been inspired and shaped by his immigrant background, his studies as a medical doctor, his consulting work at Bain & Company, and his experience as a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. He is the only Certified Scrum Trainer® with a medical degree and who has been accredited as a Strategyzer Coach by Alexander Osterwalder and his company.

Over the past 15 years, Sohrab has worked with large and small organizations all over the world and in various industries primarily in Pharma, Medtech, Automotive, IT, Telco, and Financial Services. This enables him to provide a wide range of examples in the work he does with all his clients.
